CTT Oil Exploration is an independent wildcatting outfit drilling the Midland Basin on grit, instinct, and a family name — Cooper, Tommy, Thomas.
CTT Oil Exploration is an independent West Texas operator founded by veteran landman Tommy Norris after decades reading rock, land, and people across the Permian. Where the majors want a sure thing, we drill on instinct — the old wildcatter's bet that there's oil under ground nobody else was willing to lease.
The name carries three generations of Norris men — Cooper, Tommy, and Thomas. We run lean, move fast, and answer to the people who work the rigs, not a boardroom two states away.
From the first lease to last oil, CTT keeps the whole operation under one roof: exploration, drilling, production, and land.
Independent by choice. We drill the ground the majors pass over, deal straight with every mineral owner, and keep the whole operation — first lease to last barrel — in West Texas hands.
Four divisions, one crew. We handle the whole life of a well — and the land it sits on.
Wildcat prospecting, geological survey, and spud-to-TD drilling. We chase the plays the big operators pass over and get steel in the ground fast.
Pumpjacks turning around the clock. Workovers, artificial lift, and well optimization to squeeze every recoverable barrel out of the formation.
The landman's trade, done right. Lease negotiation, title and curative, right-of-way, and honest dealing with every mineral owner across the county.
Our own fleet keeps the patch moving — crew haul, water, and heavy transport, dispatched around the clock.
An outfit this lean runs on its reputation. Here's what ours is built on.
A handshake still means something out here. Mineral owners get a fair lease and a straight answer — every time.
Every hand goes home. Nothing we pump is worth a man getting hurt on our location.
We drill light and leave the ground the way we'd want ours left — reclaimed, restored, respected.
Independent and family-run. We answer to the crew and the community, not a boardroom two states away.
CTT was built by pulling together the crew that already knew how to get it done — from the drill floor to the deal table.
The “C.” Tommy's son and the company's man in charge — sets direction, picks the prospects, and answers for every well CTT drills.
Founded CTT and stepped back to let Cooper lead. Lifelong landman — still the instinct behind the leases and every handshake that matters.
The elder “T.” Tommy's father and a lifelong oilman still out at the well site — three decades in the patch set the standard CTT drills by.
Runs operations and keeps the company legal — title, contracts, and regulatory. Nothing gets signed without her.
Leads the hunt for the next play. Reads the land and the maps to point CTT's rigs where the oil is.
Every hand shares in the upside. A quarter of CTT's profits go into a pool for the crew that works the wells — because an outfit this lean runs on loyalty, not just leases.
CTT runs on the people who work the wells. We pay fair, we look after our own, and every hand shares in the profits. If you're not afraid of hard work and West Texas heat, we want to hear from you.
Entry-level spot on the drilling crew — handle pipe, tools, and mud out on the rig floor. No experience required; we'll train the right hand. Must be dependable, drug-free, and ready to work long tours in all weather.
Run the crew on tour — operate the rig, keep the well on plan, and bring every hand home safe. Requires 3+ years of floor and derrick experience and a current well-control (IWCF/IADC) certification.
Run a daily route of producing wells and tank batteries — gauge tanks, log production, and troubleshoot pumping units and flow lines. Mechanical aptitude and a clean driving record required.
Negotiate leases, run title and curative, and keep our mineral owners squared away. Landman experience or a related degree preferred — you should know the county courthouse as well as you know the map.
Haul water and production fluids across the patch. Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and a clean MVR required. Steady hours, home most nights, and a well-maintained truck.
Keep every hand safe. Build and run safety programs, lead audits and toolbox talks, and investigate incidents across all active locations. OSHA/EHS background and Permian field experience preferred.
